TimingChain Tensioner (Pre 2007) Injector failure. Glow Plugs. Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Sensors. Clogged or Leaking Heater Core. High-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure. 1. Timing Chain Tensioner Failure – 3.0 TDI. A very common problem in early versions of the VW/Audi 3.0s is failing timing chain tensioners.
Asfor the coolant hoses, they don't experience that high of a pressure nor is the heat that extreme. The silicone based self amalgamating taped I used is temperature resistant to -50c + 260c. It also insulates up to 8000 volts and 600psi. 160 mile trip just completed with 0% coolant loss, so would definitely recommend this as a temp fixP0112Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input IAT > 141.0° C. thethermostat is the only temperature regulating device on the engine. It regulates how much coolant returns to the radiator, for cooling. The VW Phaeton 3.0L TDI has a separate thermostat (thermal bypass) to cool the DSG transmission. This is a part number for it 7L0317027A.
