These are not quite your normal obd readers - they can access all ECU's on the vehicle. Beware that resolving your short drive issue by seeking to do on demand regens may have a negative consequence.

FYI, there's no such thing as a level 1, 2, or 3 DPF regeneration. This nomenclature is simply incorrect. There are three ways the DPF will regenerate. I'll give a very brief description below. 1. Passive: when EGT's are high enough (no fuel is injected). 2. Active: when ECM commands fuel injection with exhaust stroke (65-90% soot level) 3. Emergency Regeneration. Yellow or Red “REGEN REQUIRED” light comes “ON” Driver must choose one of the following options to perform this regeneration. If one of the following options is not completed, Limp Home Mode may be activated. Running Option 1: Operate vehicle above 30mph for approximately 20 minutes. How do you trigger a DPF regeneration? When the DPF warning light lights on the dash WITHOUT the EML / Check engine light, the DPF regeneration / cleaning button should be used.
